Johnny's Pizza & Pub

Came in while on vacation with family. We chose the place because of location and decent reviews and walked from our hotel. For an app, we ordered their big basket of onion rings to share. They seemed handcut, which is always appreciated. Love some in-house prep. The batter was really thick, and not to my personal liking. For our meals, I ordered the Philly cheesesteak "wedge," which is their version of a stromboli/calzone. My stepdad ordered the meatball and cheese wedge, while my mom ordered the chicken ceasar wrap. She said she'd had better, but my stepdad loved his. To his surprise, it also had pepperoni, as well as the meatballs and loads of cheese. His person favorite. I was a fan of mine, however, sooo many onions and super thick ones too. They used both red AND white onions and a hearty portion of both. Super oniony. The steak on it was pretty good, not super dry. The sheer size of them is what's impressive. I'd come back if in the area, but would try a different menu item.

we enjoyed our visit here. the blue crab pizza 🍕 is absolutely delicious!. the cheese pizza was also good. the chicken tenders were tasty and you get a lot of them. the french fries with gravy were the bomb 💣. very nice atmosphere and the guy working there was super friendly. he's been there for over 50 years. the restaurant was clean and the prices were reasonable. I'd definitely recommend them and we'll be back when we're on vacation again.

Walked in after 9pm Wednesday evening 8/5 and asked specifically when they stop doing slices (because I heard they stop doing them at certain times but didn’t know for sure because I never ate there only hung out with friends at their bar once) and the workers responded right off that they’ll be doing slices for awhile tonight and I asked if there was a certain time they cut it off to which they replied I’ll be able to get a slice for up until around midnight. I responded that I appreciate it because I just got a ride to drive a customer for uber but I’ll be sure to comeback before midnight. Needed that bit of information so I could Know when I need to be back by. I then come back at 11:15pm and after walking through the door you have one guy in the kitchen who is peeking around the corner looking at me with one eye who never says anything just looks at me no greeting no how can I help you. After standing there a minute looking at the menu he mumbles something but you can’t hear anything he’s saying and I say I’m sorry and he just continues to remain there mumbling a word or two but never comes a couple steps more to the counter or at least to be fully seen. A woman than comes from the back and actually greets me finally with how can I help you and even has to shove the guy away because she recognizes his awkward behavior towards me as well. I then reply how much is a cheese slice and she then replies we don’t do cheese slices. This was her actual response that they don’t do cheese slices. She didn’t say we aren’t doing cheese slices anymore for the night but her first response was just they don’t do cheese slices. So I mentioned that I was there earlier and was told that they do slices here. She then replies they aren’t doing them anymore for the night. I then tell her I was told just a little bit ago when I stopped by from the employees that they do slices until midnight and I would be ok if I comeback by then. She then says that’s only on the weekend. Which I say again as if she didn’t hear anything I just said that I was told by employees for tonight (Wednesday 8/5) that they are doing slices up until midnight. And she acts like she doesn’t care never saying I’m sorry you were told that and it was a mistake or maybe unfortunately sir that could be at times but we ran out. She didn’t even attempt to communicate with consideration and respect me by listening with customer service skills and responding to what I was saying. The guy that was there whispering I believe said his name was Gene and as far as the girl’s name I’m not sure but she worked the night of August 5th and I’ll be sure to be getting it and letting management know how poorly I was treated. Definitely don’t plan on going back at this point. If this is the first experience I’m gonna receive over a matter so simple that a little kindness and communication with a welcoming customer service attitude could of made a huge positive impact on me. Mainly just being courteous and considerate by listening apologizing for the miscommunication and being inviting for me to comeback. I not only received none of that but I received the opposite. So no I don’t plan on coming back because they made sure they didn’t want me to. That’s Johnny's pizza now as I know them.
